A Letter from Our Founder: Help Shape Our National Peer ReEntry Professional Certification
Date: June 17, 2026
Dear Colleagues, Partners, and Friends,
The recovery and reentry field is evolving, and the workforce must evolve with it.
Across the country, there is growing recognition that Peer ReEntry professionals play a vital role in helping people navigate the transition home. They bring lived experience, credibility, cultural understanding, and the ability to build trust in ways that many traditional systems cannot. Yet despite the value of this role, the field has lacked a national workforce pathway that reflects the depth, skill, and importance of Peer ReEntry practice.
One World Recovery Network is responding to that need through the development of the national Peer ReEntry Professional certification. This effort is about more than recognition. It is about building a stronger foundation for workforce development, strengthening confidence in service delivery, supporting implementation across diverse systems, and helping establish a standard of excellence rooted in lived experience and informed practice.
We are not building this in isolation. The strong response so far to our survey confirms that the field is ready for a more intentional approach — and there is still time to add your voice. The survey remains open through Monday, June 22, 2026 and what you share will help shape this work from the ground up. Practitioners, family members, providers, and partners are asking for leadership, structure, and meaningful pathways forward. OWRN is proud to answer that call.
We believe the future of recovery support must be built with people who understand the journey from the inside out. That includes individuals with lived experience, family members, and leaders who know that effective support must be relational, responsive, and grounded in community. Through the national Peer ReEntry Professional certification, OWRN is helping build a stronger future for the field and a clearer pathway for those called to serve in this work.
We invite you to follow this effort, share it with your networks, and join us as we continue advancing the future of Peer ReEntry workforce development nationwide.
In partnership,
